Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, where casino gambling is not allowed. Eight casinos are established in a relatively small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship gambling hall, features 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that contains numerous comforts accompanying the casino, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
